Happiness in a gift-wrapped box

Ever since I became a mother, the Christmas gifts for me have become fewer and fewer as the “stock” was undeniably being diverted to the little one. As the years went on [Wendy is now 10 years old], gifts for me became more sparse.

Not that I’m complaining. If you’re a parent yourself, you’ll also find yourself in my position. And you’ll know that it’s completely okay. In fact, we would even tell family and friends, “Ok lang na wala ako gift, basta si [insert name of child here] meron ha! At malaki dapat ha!” I content myself in seeing Wendy happily opening all her gifts during Christmas. When I see her happy, I am happy. And I am resolved to that.

In addition, as you get older, you get to realize that giving gives more happiness when you give than when you receive. Right?

That being said, it doesn’t mean I don’t become happy when I receive gifts too.

That’s why when I received Marian’s package for me for this year’s blogger’s exchange gift, I shrieked with glee! So happy was I that I didn’t even take a picture! I immediately just tore the wrapper and shouted with each content of the box; yes, like a little kid. Ang daming laman nung box! Parang gusto kumpletuhin ni Marian ang list ko! Hehe!

Yes, gifts do bring me happiness. So thanks Marian! You made me really happy, even without the Chanel shoes! Haha!

And thanks PM for organizing this fun event! Until the next exchange gift!

Thanks also to Jeanny and Sheng for your gifts! Thanks also to all my blogger friends for the love and friendship.
